What trades, and when
The reference for each segment — exchange, sessions, lot basis, expiries and settlement — so you know what you're taking on before you open the ticket.
NSE Futures
A futures contract commits you to buy or sell an index or stock at a set price for a future expiry. You trade it by the lot with margin, so a small move in the underlying is magnified — in both directions. Most traders square off or roll to the next expiry rather than carry to settlement.
- Go long or short the index or a single stock from one ticket.
- Leveraged: you post margin, not the full contract value.
- Auto-rollover support to carry a view into the next expiry.
- Cash-settled on index futures — no delivery to handle.
NSE Options
An option gives the right — not the obligation — to buy (CE) or sell (PE) the underlying at a strike price by expiry. Buying an option caps your risk at the premium paid while keeping the upside of a directional view. The full option chain, strikes and expiries are in the terminal, with zero brokerage.
- Buy a call or put with cost capped at the premium you pay.
- Full option chain — every strike and expiry, weekly and monthly.
- Zero brokerage; margin and statutory charges itemised before you confirm.
- Pair with futures for hedges and spreads from one account.
MCX Commodities
MCX futures let you trade the price of gold, silver, crude oil, natural gas and base metals by the lot. The commodity session runs far later than equities, so global cues in bullion and energy are tradeable into the night. Positions are squared off before expiry — there is no physical delivery to manage.
- Bullion, energy and base metals from one login.
- A session that runs late — trade the overnight global move.
- Mini and micro contracts for smaller lot sizes on key commodities.
- Zero brokerage, with margins shown before every order.
GIFT Nifty
GIFT Nifty is the Nifty 50 futures contract traded on NSE's International Exchange at GIFT City. It trades for roughly 21 hours a day across two sessions, so it reflects the overnight global move and often sets the tone for the Indian cash-market open. Traders use it to take or hedge a Nifty view well outside domestic hours.
- Trade a Nifty view nearly round the clock, in two long sessions.
- Bridges the overnight global cues into the morning open.
- USD-denominated futures on the IFSC exchange.
- Same account, same terminal as your NSE and MCX books.
* Lot sizes, trading hours and expiry dates are set by the exchanges and revised periodically. The live, binding figures always appear on the contract and on the order ticket before you confirm.
